Obama

The race for the democratic presidential candidate is still a hot topic. The idea that we have a woman (Clinton) and a black man (Obama) running against each other is in itself amazing. If you think about the timing, however, it makes perfect sense. President Bush has really done a number on the reputation of the republicans, and therefore, this presidency has a phenomenal chance of going to the democrats. The 2 choices they have put up for nomination are both minorities, yet, which ever one of them wins the democratic nomination will most likely become president. So, it really does make sense to put them up against each other.

I don't think either is a bad candidate, but both have issues and since most likely one will be the next president, I do think that we need to consider each one carefully.

I personally think that Hilary Clinton is a manipulator. I think both her and her husband are arrogant phonies. I do think that she would probably make a better president than her husband did, but in my mind that doesn't really say too much. I worry about how much say Bill will have in Hilary's decisions, but yet I don't think that she's the type of woman who is going to listen to her husband. As a matter of fact, she probably helped him in his presidency. In any case, I really objected to some of the comments that she was throwing out about Barack Obama. I also felt as if the two of them were trying to bombard him by working together on her behalf. I think that Bill is better suited in the background, as I don't think that he has much to contribute.

Obama on the other hand, seems to be a more straight forward candidate. He is well spoken and seems to know what he wants to accomplish. The only real blemish I can see is the whole Muslim / Islam thing. I don't think that it makes him a terrorist or anything, but I do know that people in this country can be really closed minded at times, and that combined with the fact that he is a black man, may just be enough to do in his chances. I guess only time will tell. I am willing to bet that one of these 2 candidates will become the next president of the United States in November. But which one is anybody's guess.
