Flights

Usually at this point in the semester I feel a lot different. I will be finishing my third year in about a week and I have nothing to do this summer. The last two years I opted out of my summer and took classes to get a whole semester out of the way. This year though I don't have enough money to be able to afford the extra classes I need to even be eligible for aid. So I guess I am just going to hang around town and work for the next few months. It feels weird that I have nothing to do. The last two years I have had something to look foreword to and even though it was more work I took comfort in having a place where I needed to be. This year I think the only thing I have to plan out is a trip to go see my parents. I think this is one area where I can really put my energy because it is going to be a challenge to find cheap airfare, let alone cheap international flights. I think there are probably plans through the school where I can get discount flights like student airfares. No matter what though, it's going to drain my bank to get from here all the way to the Philippines where they live. With the cost of everything rising, including tuition obviously, I would imagine that discount airfares would be more scarce especially among the international airfares. Either way I am going to be pretty bored other than a quick week with my parents. I hope I can find a sublet for the summer and then spend the whole time with my parents, but usually it's hard to do since almost everyone leaves town. For now though I just have a few more assignments to worry about and some online class work that I need to read before my finals in a week. Finals week is also going to be a killer since I have a final each day of the week at eight in the morning. By the weekend I am going to be a blob just ready to melt in to a couch somewhere.
