This summer I have project for myself. Since I am going to be a senior come the fall, I will need to try to become a little more financially independent so I may get a little more help with my loans and debt from the government. I will have a lot more debt than anyone in my family has ever had so it's going to be very important for me to make sure that I get all the help I need. That was the problem and mistake that my parents both faced and made. That is why they still have a good bit of debt because they got out of one hole from loans and had nothing when they bought a home so they still have that debt. Luckily for me I have been keen enough to have learned from their mistake and have already started preparing to get myself out of this debt as quickly as possible. So to start I have been getting all of the loose ends tied up that will classify myself as an independent person next summer. The biggest thing for me to try to fit in has been finding affordable medical insurance. If I can get that by the end of the month then by the time I graduate I will be eligible for a review and consideration as an independent person. I have been getting a bunch of online health insurance quotes to try to find the best one. So far my biggest surprise is how much more I am going to have to work this summer to afford it. It's not that any of the health insurance plans are that expensive but I have maintained a plan these last few years that has allowed me to work as little as possible and still pay all of the bills with playing money built in there. So I have no savings to fall back on, but I do have parents who have bailed me out a few times. This plan is going to be all on me to implement and I mean to do and do it right. Come next year I will be on the fast track to financial independence and reducing debt.
