DIET PILLS WILL GET ME BACK INTO MY SKINNY JEANS
Posted by Stacy on Thursday, January 22, 2009 8:13 AM
A new health food store just opened up here in town, and I really wanted to go in and just take a look around. I knew that it was only a small store front, so I didn't expect it to be as good as my health food store back home. When I arrived, I was astounded to see how much they had in this little store. They had organic fruits and vegetables, and some prepackaged organic foods, vitamins, homeopathy and of course some all natural diet pills. Looking around they even had a dairy case filled with hormone free and organic goodies, I knew right then that I wouldn't be leaving empty handed.
I started looking at the all natural diet pills, and I was impressed with all they had to offer. They really were made with some good stuff, and were not only going to supress your appetite, but they also would help you raise your energy level while dieting. I read an article somewhere that said that this is the reason that most diet plans fail. They fail because while dieting, especially in the beginning, people get tired and draggy and they start craving things that are not conducive to dieting. Well, I decided to give them a try. I mean, I am not significantly overweight or anything, but I would like to lose about ten pounds. Since starting school that is about how much I have gained, and I know that I would be more comfortable if I could just drop a few pounds, not to mention the fact that then I could fit in my skinny jeans again, and they look incredible on me when I am the right size for them. Right now I look like a badly stuffed sausage in them, so I don't wear them.
When all was said and done I had bought quite a few goodies at our new health food store, and really enjoyed the whole experience. I hope they do well and stay in business for a long time. I know I will be one of their best customers. Eating all natural and organic is a great way to get healthy and stay healthy.
Exercise Science Class

Last year I signed up for the wrong class on accident. I was supposed to be in some health class and accidently signed up for exercise science and didn't realize it until the first day when I was sitting there in class. But then after hearing the teacher lecture about the class I decided to stay in it even though I didn't get any credit for it.
The class was basically only for exercise science majors so they could explore all of the areas and careers and decide what they wanted to do with their degree. But mainly we had guest speakers and we had to do practical hours and it was a lot of fun and is probably the most interesting and helpful class I have ever taken.
One of the careers that was talked about was personal training and someone came in to talk to us about opening their own gym and getting their personal trainer certification. It was interesting to hear about what that person went through and even the business aspect of starting a gym and keeping it running as well as the actual fitness part of it. He even offered to let us come in and learn more about Personal Trainer Certification's and what it takes to do what he does.
Even though this wasn't my major it really did make me think twice about the program I was in. All of these jobs seemed interesting to me and I wish that someone in the science department would come in and tell us what we could do with the majors we chose. This class had such a great teacher who had great contacts and resources and I don't think I could ever forget the things I learned. She taught us about how to write resumes and chose your classes wisely (which is ironic because I only learned this stuff from being in the wrong class ha). But it was a class where I actually learned a lot about how to use the things I am learning in school. We learn all of this academic stuff and then are pushed out into the real world and have to try to apply it and sometimes people get lost. I feel a lot more confident now after taking this course and I would recommend it to people who aren't even majors.
School and the Internet

The internet has become necessary for college (well high school and even grade school too) now. I talked to my dad one day and he was telling me how it's crazy to see how many assignments my sister has to do (she's nine years old) on the internet or type up papers or projects on the computer when he was in school and didn't even have these things to use.
So many of my assignments are done online using the internet, blackboard, or just research and submitting homework. For my chemistry and biology classes we have weekly things due through the internet. For one of my chemistry classes we had to do research using websites with drug reviews and a meds reviews site. We had to look into certain drugs (for our paper) and find ratings and what people who had used them said about side effects and so on.
For another project I had for finance I had to make a plan for ten years after I graduated. I had to decide what I would be doing with my life and then look online at salaries and find a home through an online realtor in the city I thought I would be in (I don't even know where I'm living next year let alone 12 years from now). Then we also had to go on and look into cars and find mortgage payment and car payment estimates and quotes. Then after we had found out all of the information (and a lot of other stuff as well) we had to make a budget using an online calculator and website and the whole project was submitted electronically online.
Many of my assignments for my classes are submitted through a third party website or through the schools grade book or blackboard website. We email teachers and classmates questions and to form study groups or get notes. I use the internet to keep in touch with friends and email my dad like daily. I also use it to check my grades and search for cheaper books online (my books if I buy them in the bookstore are over a thousand dollars) so if I look online I am able to find much better deals and then at the end of the semester I can try to sell them online as well to get more (or anything at all even ha).
Although our parents didn't even have internet we (and they) use it for almost everything, daily. Who knows what will be out by the time our kids get to college.
BATH AND BODY PARTY

I love the holidays, however, I am really glad to be back in the old routine. I really enjoyed my break, since I got to spend it with family and friends and I even got to attend a bath and body party that my friend had right before Christmas. Apparently, she hooked up with a company that sells bath and body products, you know like skin creams, lotions, shower gels, soaps and fragrances. Now normally the smells bother me, but these products were so mild and we all natural fragrances that really smelled good. Well, it is a really good thing that she had this party, because their were still a few people on my list that I need to pick up something for, and this was the perfect place to do it. With lots of neat gifts and different gift baskets, I was able to find something for everyone on my list. I even picked up a few items for myself. I probably shouldn't have, since I don't have much extra money, but I like to smell good, and what I have found is that using the right combination of shower gel combined with lotion and spray give you the best overall scent. I even try to coordinate my shampoo and conditioner scents with my body scents. This gives you a light but consistent smell that is irresistible.
Anyway, I was really thrilled with the products in this line, so much so that I decided to have my friend come up to school next month and do a party. I have told a lot of my friends about it already and have let them test out some of my new scents just to see what they think. The best thing about these products is that they are really affordable, and I figured that by next month everyone will be getting their tax money back, and so it is a great opportunity to catch them when they have money. I know the party is going to be a real success for all. My friends at school will get some great products and my other friend will get the commission so it is a win win.
